Spring Planting Full Force
We are in full Spring planting at the farm. We have transplanted from the greenhouse all: tomatoes, peppers, eggplant & herbs. We have seed planted:peas, beans, summer squash, lettuces & greens. This weekend will be filled with more planting. At the farm we are hatching chicks and enjoying the wonderful rain this week. Have a wonderful Memorial Day Holiday weekend.

What a beautiful weekend! We took advantage of the spring like weather and Tom plowed up the area that this years lettuce/greens will grow as well as getting the ground ready for transplanting the berries for 2013.

Its time to get excited about the 2013 growing season at Windy Meadow Farms. We are taking enrollment for our 2013 Summer CSA and are looking forward to having our members back out to the farm. Our Henrietta Hens are laying lots of eggs... so stop out and grab a dozen or 2 when you are in the area. Call with any farm or CSA questions, 315-576-8918.

Our crops
are growing and so is Luc Thomas. It is
hard to believe that Luc Thomas is going to be 3 years old this Sunday!!! Happy
Birthday Little Man! It seems like it was
just yesterday that I came home from the hospital from giving birth to a busy
planting week at the farm. Tom was busy
transplanting cold crops and put me and the baby on the trans-planter to help
him finish planting the last 10,000 plants for the week. I think he forgot that I had just given birth
to his 5th child or maybe he knew many women back in the day gave
birth and went back to work in the fields and felt I could do the same after my
3 days of rest in the hospital…so much for maternity leave on a farm. God is good!
Enjoy your
week!!

WELCOME 2012 CSA MEMBERS
It has been
a “typical” farming year on our hill in West Walworth, as you never know what
the weather is going to bring to you in any given week. We are still laughing and are not to over
whelmed as many of our fruit farming friends are this year.
I would love
to hear what you are “fixing up” with all the veggies and goodies coming from
our farm. Share some recipes with us by
email and we will post on our website for others.
I will be
posting soon some dates to save for our Summer Social & Fall Harvest
Party.
Enjoy your
week!!
